Mike wants to ride his bicycle [worksafe version]

The other day I was reminded of the good old days when I would post all of those uncomfortable moments when I crashed on my bike. You know, for fun. Well I managed to squeeze a little something into my ride with Tony and Evan (who also just happened to have his POV video cam rolling). From the video it looks like I just fell over. I didn't. My handlebars twisted clear around so that I could precariously fall on them chest first as I pitched into a pile of rocks and logs (which my knees so carefully found). This crash left me two knees down, a nasty chest wound, and a very bent front brake lever.

So, here's one for the kids.

Thanks to Ev for the video!

Oh man, I laugh every time and I feel bad that I do. But I laugh at the part where you yell at your bike...

No need to feel bad. It's the reason I ride - to make people laugh. I'm just glad we've got this one in HD!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go take another morphine shot.

Dude! That sucks! (I laughed too...and then felt bad!) I'm glad you went biking and sorry that you ate it! I hope you feel better soon!

There's no reason to feel bad, 40% of the pre-teen girls I see coming down this trail almost hit that stump. One of them actually DID hit it, and she almost fell!

I've got a serious case of schadenfreude going on.

And I'm also kind of giddy that I finally had an appropriate venue to bust out that word.

Elisa- It was good to get off road again since I've only done 3-4 this season and no amount of riding to work conditions me for a nasty technical downhill like this. My endurance was decent, but the short, steep, technical stuff was crap. As is illustrated here.

Aaron- Man, those stats are sooo Last Administration. Most of the pre-teen girls I saw got bored and turned around and the one that did make it went straight instead of turning into the stump - which doesn't count!

Teresa- You know, I was having the same experience as I lay there mired in sh**, considering the geomorphological outcome of a continent without beaver dams...

Tony - You know what was said - you were right there... er, wait, how far behind were you again?

Annette - You know that in addition to being a loud-mouthed Yank, I'm also a clown. This is no surprise :)

Thanks Dave. If you ever plan a bike wreck, I highly recommend bringing Ev along so he can record it. 9 out of 10 punk kids agree!
