Now and Then
Still editing some photos from La Push and I couldn't shake the feeling that I had seen this scene before. Sure enough - last year. So, here are Marcus and Ian... again. Same beach. Same place on the beach (give or take a few meters). Same habit (Marcus) or phobia (Ian) of collecting things.
Uncanny.
Apparently my life is just a series of repeats. It could be a scene from La Jetee.
Although, if we are supposed to meet at an airport to observe my own death you'll have to pardon me if I opt out.

Aloha from Sunny Washington! [again]
Finally scanning some of the film I shot in La Push. Attrition took its toll on the photo log for this trip with the ocean playing the wicked nasty on my lenses, thus ruining several shots. I'm a dork.

Wish you were here
The hesitation that Ian seems to have in this one reminded me of the sinister undertones on the Pink Floyd album cover for Wish you were here. He wasn't in the mood to shake hands and was pretty much done with fire, so this is what was left.

Marcus on First Beach
Both boys got a kick out of watching me skip stones on the ocean. Marcus turned out to be quite a gatherer. He'd gather all kinds of little sticks, sea weed, and shells. These are some of his rocks. I think he's afraid that I'll take them away... maybe throw them in the ocean.

Ian on First Beach
You wouldn't know it by this photo, but Ian has an obsessive repulsion to dirt and sand. At times he would cry, "Aaah! Diiiirrrty!" while swatting at the sand on his hands or feet. Thankfully, by the end of the trip he had somewhat overcome this fear and was able to enjoy the beach a bit more.

Making Wishes
As always, we had to make a trip to Port Angeles and the many bookstores in town. Just next to Port Book & News is this little fountain that the boys enjoyed. There are also several cool murals painted on the sides of many of the older buildings downtown.

Ready... Set...
This will be the first of a deluge of photos taken on our recent trip to La Push and the Olympic Penninsula - which was fantastic. The weather was very nice - cool, but not too cool - although it didn't rain while we were there... In fact, the only time I had to use my jacket was on the ride up when we stopped at Multnomah Falls, which was doing the proverbial throw-down.
This photo of Marcus sums up what they thought of the experience. Needless to say, there were two tired little boys at the end of each day.
Go!
**Edit**
I've entered this in a photo contest sponsored by Nikon. If you care, you can vote for it here, I believe...
Cheers.
