Now and Then
Still editing some photos from La Push and I couldn't shake the feeling that I had seen this scene before. Sure enough - last year. So, here are Marcus and Ian... again. Same beach. Same place on the beach (give or take a few meters). Same habit (Marcus) or phobia (Ian) of collecting things.
Uncanny.
Apparently my life is just a series of repeats. It could be a scene from La Jetee.
Although, if we are supposed to meet at an airport to observe my own death you'll have to pardon me if I opt out.

A New Look

Doing a little virtual remodeling. After four years I figure it's about time.
Here's Marcus doing Milk Face.

A bridge too far
The need for a trial run on a new (to me) camera beat out the need to avoid a red air quality day...
I'm the Bad Dad.
My excuse is stupidity.

Sorry or Please

, originally uploaded by mothslayer.
I'm just getting to the huge backlog of photos I've had building since the first part of December. Add to that, Heidi has been sick for the past week and I've been helping someone else learn to develop film and I'm just not posting as much these days (kind of missed a whole month there in December, which we've only done a few times in the past three and a half years). Although, I'm taking photos again, so that's fun.
Polaroids. More Polaroids.

Kids Rock: Reason #17
This is the look that Marcus gives when he's imitating me. Seriously. Kids are shameless. Where's the respect?
I'm your father! You better shape up, kid, or I'll subtitle all of your photos with self-gratifying ego pumping slogans.
Right.
That's better.

...And in color

So I had Heidi buy a pack of this crappy fuji x-tra film at costco the other day because it was so cheap they were practically paying us to take it.
Hence, the color.
I'll try and make up for it with another three months of black & whites.

Say...

Ian was on a serious post-nap high. For about forty minutes he was all over the place, hollering, and pulling faces. Armed with nothing short of a bag full of cameras, we exploited his cheer with the most sincere intentions.

Saturday's gone

The little guys love their slide.
What really seems to try their patience is the guy with the big brick-of-a-camera looming over them as they are trying to get their rhythm on. If you asked them, I'm confident that they would tell you that guy should climb in a well. And get out of the crappin' way. Move out. Shove off. There's sliding to be slid.
Until it gets late and we have to go in.

Ready... Set...
This will be the first of a deluge of photos taken on our recent trip to La Push and the Olympic Penninsula - which was fantastic. The weather was very nice - cool, but not too cool - although it didn't rain while we were there... In fact, the only time I had to use my jacket was on the ride up when we stopped at Multnomah Falls, which was doing the proverbial throw-down.
This photo of Marcus sums up what they thought of the experience. Needless to say, there were two tired little boys at the end of each day.
Go!
**Edit**
I've entered this in a photo contest sponsored by Nikon. If you care, you can vote for it here, I believe...
Cheers.

Helping Hands
The little guys aren't as enamored with the idea of "work" as they are with the tools of the trade. Over-sized work gloves = the coolest thing.Enter your own handy cliche here:____________________

Aaaaaaaaahhh!
The planned photo was much different than what happened after he lunged at me.
Taken with a Holga, modified to fit 35mm
